Participants commit to two hours each week for 12 weeks. The first hour of each session is Food Education that covers topics like the food system, healthy eating on a budget, reading food labels and the Big Three food culprits – Sugar, Salt and Fat.
The second hour is a sharing circle which provides a forum for open, honest, confidential and safe conversation about what is going on in your world around food, family, health and self esteem.
Participants go home with a bag of fresh fruits and vegetables each week along with customized recipes.
FEAST also coordinates with other organizations to provide additional support and referrals for job training, job placement and educational opportunities as well as greater access to health services and education.
